Good Research Practice

AMTEC-PRO PhD candidates took part in a workshop on good research practice led by Dr. Debbie Radtke, the programme manager at iGRAD (Interdisciplinary Graduate and Research Academy Düsseldorf), Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.

The workshop focused on responsibilities and questions that arise in everyday research, from documenting data to publishing results and working with colleagues. Based on the DFG’s recommendations, topics included data storage, authorship, peer review, plagiarism, copyright and the responsible use of generative AI. The workshop also addressed expectations in doctoral supervision, communication within research teams, handling conflicts and what to do when scientific misconduct is suspected.

For AMTEC-PRO, where researchers from physics, chemistry and medicine work together, a shared understanding of these principles is an important basis for collaboration.
